At the beginning of the opening credits (Season 1-4), the X-Men first soar through space and through the series title. At the end, the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants collide with each other and form the series title.
In the opening credits, a roll call of the X-Men occurs, with each member showing off their particular ability.
For the first 26 episodes that were produced, Shuki Levy was credited as the sole composer for the show. Beginning with the 27th produced episode, Haim Saban started being credited as a co-composer, under the alias Kussa Mahchi. Saban also used this alias for composing credits on many other programs from the 1990s, such as Spider-Man: The Animated Series (1994).
When the series was originally airing on Fox Kids, it featured Saban Entertainment's 1988 coin logo in the credits. A new transfer of the series was made when it was rerun on Toon Disney in the 2000s. This transfer used Saban's newer logo from 1996, and the credits were presented in a split screen style. When the whole series began being released on DVD in the late 2000s, Saban's logos were removed entirely, along with the split screen credit style which was used on TV reruns in the 2000s.
