When Johnny and Cora have just finished having sex, there is a shot of Cora looking down on Johnny with her hair very disheveled, and her makeup all undone, and she looks very hot and bothered. The scene cuts to Johnny on the bed for a few seconds, then back to Cora whose face and hair now suddenly looks completely redone, her makeup is fine, her hair is beautifully in place, and she looks totally calm and cool.
When Bobby, Tim and Frankie are together in Frankie's apartment for the first time in the film, Frankie and Tim are talking in her kitchen area. Stuck to the lower edge of a cabinet is a newspaper comic strip with a take-out menu tacked below it. The menu switches to a bumper-sticker between shots.
When Johnny surprises Frankie during league night at the bowling alley, he brings a handball to attempt a two-pin split pickup (long shot). When the ball bounces softly off the ten pin (close-up shot), there are three pins set up.
When Frankie and Johnny first attempt to sleep with each other, Frankie is seen trying to remove her left shoe with her bare right foot. The right shoe is shown on the bed, already off. In the next shot, Johnny is taking off the right shoe.
When Johnny and Frankie come home after their first date, they begin to make the bed, and Johnny (Al Pacino) starts taking off his jacket. When he jumps on the bed to bite her butt, his jacket is still on completely, and he must take it off again.
At the beginning of the film, the bus driver announces they are 15 minutes from Altoona, PA and that Rockview State Prison is over to the right. Rockview State Prison is about an hour drive away by car and it's about three hours by commercial bus .
