Featured review
Blue Bayou is still one of my favorite movies! The show featured the wonderful Elizabeth Ashley, the amazing Alfre Woodard and a very young Mario Van Peebles. The movie was shown on Television in 1990 and set in New Orleans.
Alfre plays a District Attorney leaving L.A. to take a job in her hometown of New Orleans working for far less money than her legal knowledge and experience is worth. She has a young son (Keith Williams) that was troubled and she was raising him to the best of her ability. Mario Van Pebbles plays Keith's father in the movie and helps her in the raising of their son. Alfre is assigned to investigate a local sex scandal. You will be very surprised as to the outcome of this plot.
Elizabeth plays a rich and well to-do wife of a promenade attorney. It seems that while the main plot is resolved, several secondary story lines are left unresolved, perhaps suggesting that Blue Bayou as the pilot film for an unsold series. Regardless of that I loved the show from start to end. This is an awesome show and I recommend it highly!!!
