Yes and no. The plot concerns a young woman who learns that a small town is slowly being taken over by the "living dead", who eat human flesh. However, there is no real similarity to George Romero's type of flesh-eating zombies; the undead people in this movie walk, talk, and show no signs of rotting. The violence is also not what most horror fans would expect from a 'zombie film'. In truth, the zombies in "Dead People"/"Messiah of Evil" have more in common with vampires in the way they look and behave.
