Shortly before he boards the ship for France, Shaft is involved in a fight in which his right hand is severely bitten by his opponent, drawing quite a bit of blood. Yet when he boards the ship, his right hand is completely wound free.
Shaft is nude while stick fighting with Oziot during the beginning of the film, yet Shaft can be seen wearing blue sweat pants in one shot.
After a man is mistaken for John and gets kidnapped, he's taken by car to a basement full of jail cells. They begin interrogating him on a table, and using a hand cranked motor, shock him with electricity. The man holding the two wired alligator clips, is holding on to the metal part of the clip, which would cause him to complete the circuit and get jolted.
At the beginning of the movie, a man is executed. The executioner points a gun at him, point blank. The gun has a long silencer attached to it. With each of the three shots fired, we hear a loud bang, as if the silencer wasn't there.
During the stick fight, dialogue indicates that Shaft is supposed to be entirely naked, but on occasion he can be seen to be wearing a pouch.
After Shaft is sedated by the dart in the the film's opening, it is not explained how his captors got past the parking garage attendant while putting Shaft in their car.
When given the recording device hidden in his pouch, Shaft is told to start recording, he is to turn the knob clockwise. When at the paymaster's table, he begins recording by turning it counter clockwise.
