- TriviaThe first season, airing in the summer of 1968, sought to capture a throwback 1930s aesthetic, with costumes and songs inspired by the bygone period. The style was evocative of the streetwise "gold digger" chorus girl films of the '30s, as well as the popular gangster films of that decade (mostly produced by Warner Bros.). The stylistic choice may have been inspired by the popularity of recent box office hit Bonnie and Clyde (1967), set in the Depression era. The 1969 season expanded its retro aesthetic to include the 1940s war years, and the 1970 season abandoned the throwback gimmick in favor of a more contemporary sensibility.

Regrettably, much of the information -- not only here at the IMDb, but on most other websites, as well -- regarding both the personnel lineups and chronology of The Golddiggers and their television appearances, is inaccurate, and the space allotted on this page does not permit adequate room to set the record straight.
However, a complete, authoritative and exhaustive history of The Golddiggers and The Dingaling Sisters can be found on a brand-new, educational, noncommercial and not-for- profit Website. To locate it, simply Google the words "Golddiggers Super Site".
If the editors of the IMDb would use the information contained on the aforementioned site to correct the data given here, both the creators of The Golddiggers Super Site, and the many talented ladies which that venture celebrates, would be grateful.
