The film is a Franco Franchi-Ciccio Ingrassia vehicle, in the wake of Walter Chiari-Raimondo Vianello at the time, both of them humorous couples who made several Pasta/Chorizo Westerns in Spain . This is an amusing entry on Franco and Ciccio series that contains slapstick , slapdash , simple humor and lots of entertainment and fun ; both of whom played a lots of films parodying all kinds of genres . It deals with Franco (overacting by means of excessive mimic gesticulation) and Ciccio , two botcher , inept gunslingers . Franco and Ciccio mosey into the Mexican border town of Santa Genoneva. The matter concerns the usual confrontation between two families, Los Cocos and the Brenton, in ¨For a Fistful of dollars¨ style (in fact, the film was shot on the same set in town), and in which the duo -Franco, Ciccio- meddles between the two families in conflict and putting things even worse . Meanwhile, Consuelo : Lina Rosales, is having an affair with one of the members of the opposing family.
This entertaining , engaging movie is crammed of crossfire , fist-fights, overwhelming stunt-work and lots of humor . The film is a Franco Franchi-Ciccio Ingrassia recital playing two gun salesmen, peddling their wares from villlage to village , both are dressed in ponchos , one rides a small mule , one a large one , as they parody, dance , stooges , make acrobatics , tongue twister and put faces and grimaces . Lots of gags and sketches , some of them funny but in the movie lacks a real freshness . Disconcerting movie with a myriad of silly and unimaginative gags , though it has its good moments here and there . This is a bewildering and amusing farce with the master comedy actors and displaying several parodic moments . Picture is a Franco Franchi-Ciccio Ingrassia vehicle , they are authentic comedians and real farceurs . If you like their crazy interpretation , you will most definitely enjoy this one . It is a Spanish/Italian co-production , that's why it appears several Spanish players, such as : Francisco Camoiras , Luis Morris , Luis Barbero, Jesús Tordesillas, Guillermo Méndez, Emilio Rodríguez, Rafael Hernández and some of them Spaghetti/Paella regulars : Álvaro de Luna , Tito García, José Canalejas , José Sancho , José Riesgo , Monica Randall, Rafael Albaicín, Simón Arriaga , Jesús Puente and Álvaro de Luna . The lighting-paced storyline slows down at times , but frenetic hilarious scenes make up for it . It's a diverting romp with plenty of shootouts and brawls . This is a nice and funny juvenile story for Spaghetti fans , it is delightful and likable , at times . It packs action, fist-play, slapdash, humor with tongue-in-cheek and is quite bemusing . This release has some cool and several hilarious moments ; however the subsequent Terence Hill-Bud Spencer duo films are much better .
Outdoor sequences shot in Spanish places , being located on outskirts Madrid in Colmenar Viejo and Hoyo De Manzanares . In Hoyo de Manzanares was built a Western town by producer Eduardo Manzanos Brochero , here screenwriter too , called 'Golden City' carried out by the production designers José Luis Galicia and Jaime Pérez Cubero and resulted to be the locations in which were shot lots of Spaghetti/Paella Western produced and directed by Spanish and Italian and occasionally American people , including ¨Fistful of dollars¨and ¨For a fistful of dollars more¨. This Spaghetti spoof was middlingly directed by Michele Lupo who made all kinds of genres. Lupo made various Bud Spencer vehícles as ¨Bulldozer¨, ¨The supersheriff¨ , ¨ET and the supersheriff¨ , and ¨Buddy go west¨ . Lupo directed Giuliano Gemma , his fetish actor , in several films as ¨Master Touch¨ with Kirk Douglas , ¨Arizona Colt¨ , and ¨California¨ with William Berger . Rating 4,5/10. Only for Franchi and Ingrassia fans .
