Soap’s Sexiest Men Alive
The only ex-daytime soap actor ever named People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” was All My Children alum Michael B. Jordan, who took the title in 2020. His post-soap career has included Black Panther, the Creed movies, and 2013’s Fruitvale Station.
Although technically, Brad Pitt did appear in two episodes of Another World back in 1987. Apparently, it was his first speaking role on TV. Pitt would go on to achieve Holywood A-List status and be named “Sexiest Man Alive” twice — in 1995 and 2000.
However, a number of soap stars have appeared in the issues over the years. The Young and the Restless star Shemar Moore was featured in the 2017 issue. He famously told his mom that he’s “still got it.

Amy Lewis returned to Genoa City to drop a bombshell on Nate (Sean Dominic) on The Young and the Restless.
The character has Y&R fans wondering who she is, and for good reason, since Amy (Valarie Pettiford) has been off the canvas for decades.
Nate has been involved in a mystery surrounding a woman from his father, Nathan Hastings’ (Nathan Purdee) past, for weeks.

Let’s take a look at what we know.

Nicholas Pryor, whose nearly seven-decade acting career included hundreds of episodes of soap operas, playing Tom Cruise’s dad in Risky Business and Kathleen Robertson’s dad on Beverly Hills, 90210, died October 7. He was 89.
Fellow actor Jon Lindstrom announced the news on social media, saying in part: “Nick was an Actor’s actor, and an exceptional friend. … He was a mentor, a sounding board, a trusted confidant, and even a father-figure beyond, yes, playing my own father on #Gh and #PortCharles.” See his full post below.
Pryor racked up nearly 175 screen credits and half-dozen more on Broadway. After getting his screen start guesting on such 1950s and early ’60s TV series as Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Doctors, he played Tom Baxter in more than 75 episodes of the NBC daytime drama Another World. That led to a starring role on The Nurses, a 1965-67 continuation of CBS’ The Nurses, which...

In light of the news that All My Children is potentially being rebooted as a holiday movie on Lifetime, Soap Hub reached out to a few of your favorite Another World alums to see their thoughts about the potential to bring their show back.
Aw History
Aw aired on NBC from May 4, 1964, to June 25, 1999. The show also had two spinoffs: Somerset, which aired from 1970-1976, and Texas, which aired from 1980-1982.
Joe Barbara (Joe)
How would you feel about Aw being rebooted as a movie? I’d love to see the show rebooted as a movie. My first question would be who’s going to write it? Which “Joe Carlino” would they have in mind… the original one who came on as a renegade and took risks? Or the eventual one who told everyone they needed to follow the rules…?
Where do you see Joe at this stage of his life?...

The October 2 episode of Chicago Med featured a pregnant patient who must have looked familiar to daytime fans. Days of Our Lives viewers who are also fans of the Chicago One franchise probably spotted Marci Miller. The actress played a character with physical and mental health issues.
Ex-Daytime Star on Primetime
Marci Miller (ex-Abigail Dimera) must have channeled her Days character for this primetime role. It all started when emergency room doctors at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center tended to her injuries after she fell down the stairs.
However, as Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) attempted to treat her, it was apparent that the pregnant woman had more issues that were not exactly physical. As a result, Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt), the hospital’s resident psychiatrist, had to be called in to assess her.

Crew Morrow, the latest addition to The Bold and the Beautiful cast, has stepped into some pretty tangled stories as the Soras’d Will Spencer. Bearing more than a striking resemblance to his father, Joshua Morrow, who has played Nick on The Young and the Restless for thirty years, the actor has already shown an admirable level of confidence on screen.

Young and the Restless comings and goings reveal Valarie Pettiford joins the cast as recast Amy Lewis. This is a real blast from the past. The character’s been gone since 1988. And now she’s back with a new face and an incredible actress in the role.

And now this big comeback, per Y&R spoilers.

The beloved soap had a brief resurrection online but streaming wasn’t popular yet, so it only lasted a few months. Actress Susan Lucci, who starred as Erica Kane for 40 years, almost made an appearance on General Hospital but it never happened.
