After the fight in the hotel room with Lafe, Mike handcuffs himself to Lafe rather than cuffing Lafe's two wrists together. There is a high risk of personal injury and lack of prisoner control if a policeman is cuffed to a prisoner. Conovan then grills the man about his getting a lousy eighty bucks for the gun that killed his former partner. But at no time did the man mention getting eighty bucks for the gun.
