As the previous IMDb reviewer has pointed out, script deficiencies prevent this Private Media super-production from being a classic but the sheer scale of the movie, pus its serious tone, make for a worthwhile movie made back when expensive, well-crafted story films were still bankable (see for example the huge American hit of the era, "Pirates" from Digital Playground & Adam & Eve).
