Matias is working on software to covert the spoken word into sign language to make skyping his deaf girlfriend a more productive experience. However, he is doing so on a laptop he picked up from a Lost and Found box. It turns out to have some very unsettling material on it, and its previous owner wants it back. Matias and his Skype friends are in deep trouble.
This film uses the same conceit as its predecessor Unfriended: all we see is Matias' desktop. The story is quite different, though, and convincing in terms of someone unknown being able to use your technology to spy on you, if not so much about the torture video swap ring they use such tech to support.
The cast of unknowns do well. Like its predecessor, this is a small film with small production values, which works extremely well because of a goo story, an effective script, and good performances.
This is worth catching if you like dark dramas.
