Richard Curtis returns to festive filmmaking with That Christmas, which streams on Netflix next month. Here’s the trailer.

Love it or loathe it, there is no denying that Richard Curtis’ Love Actually is a modern Christmas favourite for many. With its saccharine stories of love, lust and, in the case of Andrew Lincoln’s character – let’s be honest – stalking, the film has indelibly inked itself into the fabric of the festive season. It’s almost become a tradition to run an article contributing to the Love Actually debate – and who knows, one year we might even get around to it (we won’t – Ed).

Curtis returned to Christmas films last year with Genie, starring Melissa McCarthy and Paapa Essiedu, a big budget remake of his terrific 1991 television film Bernard And The Genie, which starred Alan Cumming, Lenny Henry and Rowan Atkinson – both films are available to stream on Sky Cinema.

Brian Cox’s Santa Claus is coming to town in the first trailer for Netflix’s animated holiday comedy That Christmas.

In the film’s first trailer, the Succession actor is sporting Kris Kringle’s standard uniform — a beard, red suit with a white fur trim and boots — as he delivers presents to children on the busiest night of the year, Christmas Eve.

That Christmas is based on a trilogy of children’s books by award-winning writer-director Richard Curtis (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, Love Actually and Yesterday) and marks his first leap into animation. The film features entwined stories about family and friends, love and loneliness and Santa Claus making a big mistake.

In her review, The Hollywood Reporter‘s Lovia Gyarkye praised the “charming animation” while adding that the movie “slyly avoids the usual mawkishness by grounding its whimsical story in the real and prickly emotions of life.

Tales of love, unrequited or otherwise, interwoven over the festive season, laden with pop songs and narrated by one of the biggest celebrities in show business, That Christmas is best viewed as a kid-friendly attempt by rom-com auteur Richard Curtis to atone for his long-standing seasonal hit Love Actually. Beautifully rendered by Simon Otto, head of character animation for the well-respected How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, it might be too busy, storywise, for younger audiences, and even rather scary towards the end, but the writer-director’s genius for dialogue is firmly on display here (an especially timorous character is afraid of infinity because “there’s just so much of it”). Apple TV wants more of the sci-fi thriller Invasion and has picked up the series from Simon Kinberg (the Deadpool films) and David Weil (Hunters) for a third season.

It’s taken them a while, but Apple TV has now officially confirmed that they’ve renewed Invasion for season 3. The new batch of episodes are expected to begin filming later this month.

Invasion Season 2 is finally here and it’s just as action-packed as the first season. Created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil, the Apple TV series picks up a few months after the first season’s events and it shows the aliens escalating their attacks on the humans turning it into an all-out war.

The first season of Invasion tells the story of an alien invasion in a very grounded realistic way with many of its characters having very different backgrounds. Apple TV renewed Invasion nearly two years ago and after all that wait we finally got a new batch of episodes.

Apple TV ’s Invasion season two kicked off with an episode that confirmed humans pose as big a threat to each other as the invading aliens. Season two episode two, “Chasing Ghosts,” will stream on August 30, 2023, with new season two episodes arriving on Wednesdays leading up to the October 25 finale.

Golshifteh Farahani stars as Aneesha Malik, Shioli Kutsuna is Mitsuki, Shamier Anderson plays Trevante Ward, India Brown is Jamila Huston, Billy Barratt is Caspar Morrow, Azhy Robertson is Luke Malik, Paddy Holland is Monty, and Tara Moayedi is Sarah Malik. Season two of Apple TV ’s critically acclaimed sci-fi drama Invasion kicks off on August 23, 2023 with an episode that finds humans doing whatever’s necessary to fight the alien invaders. In this new clip from episode one, it’s revealed that aliens can be killed with fire.

Disney Releases “Loki” Season 2 Trailer

Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort Channel has partnered with Paul Fusco, the creator of the hit ’80s sitcom “Alf,” to create new content starring the wisecracking alien. The show, which aired from 1986 to 1990, starred the titular character Alf, or “Alien Life Form,” as he lives with a human family in suburbia.

Maximum Effort and Fusco have revived Alf, along with Shout! Studios, to premiere new sponsor-driven content premiering Saturday, July 29. Advertising messages will be interegrated throughout “Alf” episodes for various companies including Mint Mobile, Fubo, Hims, Mntn and Ring. Dubbed “Maximum Moments,” this sponsored content will feature new storylines featuring Alf.

The two-minute trailer begins by confirming it’s been 121 since the aliens invaded Earth, and the war against the creatures continues. Lives have been lost, sacrifices have been made, and now it appears it’s going to take working together to defeat this invading force.

Let's get one thing out of the way:

Invasion Season 1 promised an alien invasion plot for the ages, but it struggled because it didn't balance out the storylines well enough.

It would have had much better reviews if it focused on a smaller group of characters.

Thankfully, it looks like Invasion Season 2 is scaling things back; at least, that's what we're taking from the official trailer for Invasion Season 2.

The highly-anticipated new season premieres August 23 on Apple TV and will air weekly through October 25.

The trailer takes us 121 days into the titular invasion, and everyone is struggling to keep it together as the chances of survival continue to diminish.

How can you contend with aliens? The government knew little to nothing about their existence, so trying to fight back when you know little about their weakness doesn't seem like a fair fight.

Apple TV has set a Wednesday, August 23, 2023 premiere date for the launch of season two of the critically acclaimed sci-fi series Invasion. The season two date announcement included the first batch of photos from the upcoming 10-episode season.

Created by Oscar nominee Simon Kinberg (The Martian) and David Weil (Citadel), Invasion debuted on October 22, 2021 and wrapped up its 10-episode first season in December 2021. The season two renewal was confirmed just days before the season one finale.

“I couldn’t be more excited about the return of Invasion on Apple TV ,” stated Kinberg. “It’s a bigger, more intense season that drops our viewers into a wide-scale, global battle from the start.
