Maria Aceves Varela

Maria Enriqueta Aceves Varela was born on September 11, 1990 in the city of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. Since she was little, the world of movies has always been her passion. She has a Bachelor in Animation and Digital Arts at ITESM and many of the classes were related to the world of cinema, which help her realize her interest in becoming a filmmaker. After finishing University she earned a scholarship from Vancouver Film School (VFS) to study the Film Production and graduated in 2015. She was the cinematographer of the short film "Reconnect" and has worked in many productions filmed in Vancouver.

Her favorite areas of work are: cinematography, editing 3D modeling, 3D animation and photography. Among her passions are cinema, music and traveling. One of her favorite hobbies is playing guitar with her band "Los Varela". She can play four musical instruments: guitar, bass, drums and keyboards, but her favorite is the guitar. Coordination, concentration and rhythm are some of the qualities that the musical discipline has given to her and that have helped to open up her senses and see the world through a different kind of eyes. Her passion for photography help her to tell stories through the vision and magic of cinematography. Everything that is inside the frame is her highest ambition.
