- Music Department
Andreas Aaser, a composer with an innate gift for creating unique soundscapes, is quickly ascending the ranks in the film world. Born in Norway and now based in London. Underpinning his promising rise is a fruitful mentorship with the esteemed film composer Natalie Holt, which sparked collaborations on several notable productions including co-composing crime drama Deadwater Fell, which resulted in a RTS nomination for best music, and collaborating on Marvel's Loki and the Star Wars television series Obi-Wan Kenobi.
What sets Andreas apart is his remarkable ability to weave interesting and evocative moods into his compositions, a talent that resonates deeply with audiences. His music becomes a narrative force, driving the emotional core of cinematic storytelling. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of musical luminaries, including Jóhann Jóhannsson, Moondog, Ben Frost and Sergei Prokofiev, Andreas blends traditional orchestration with audacious creativity. He fearlessly incorporates unconventional sounds and instruments, whether a bicycle wheel or the sounds of the human body, pushing the boundaries of musical expression.
Introduced to music through the exhilarating power of playing the guitar in rock bands, he has been pursuing his dream of being a film composer ever since having an original composition performed by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Oslo during his music studies in High School. Andreas' journey continued with an extensive education in music technology at the Norwegian University for Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. This comprehensive education included traditional composition courses and film history and theory, which paved the way for his early forays into film composition. Today, Andreas is steadfast in his pursuit of cinematic excellence, with dreams of scoring blockbuster films and TV shows. Simultaneously, he is dedicated to sharing more of his standalone music, exploring diverse musical expressions, with his upcoming EP "Songs of Tomorrow", supported by Help Musicians, marking the beginning of an ambitious new chapter in his artistic journey.
