Alex Shimizu

Alex Shimizu began performing with the National Dance Institute in 4th grade at Hunter College Elementary School and was mentored by Jacques d'Amboise. Alongside Jacques, he was featured on the CBS Evening News and NPR with guest host, Christopher Walken. Alex also performed Off-Broadway at Theater for a New Audience and in the film version of Julie Taymor's Julie Taymor's A Midsummer Night's Dream (2014). TV and film credits include Person of Interest (2011), S.W.A.T. (2017), Scorpion (2014), Community (2009), and the Netflix teen comedy, The Outcasts (2017). Alex now resides in Los Angeles and recurred on NBC's The Blacklist (2013) with James Spader and AMC's The Terror (2018) with George Takei. He will next be seen in Taika Waititi's Interior Chinatown (2024) for Hulu. In 2024 he was cast as young Vince Masuka in Showtime's Dexter: Original Sin (2024), the upcoming prequel of Dexter (2006).
