Stephanie Zenee Perez is a Los Angeles based editor-turned-writer-director. As a queer first-generation Mexican-American, she is passionately dedicated to crafting narratives that delve into the intricacies of the human experience, celebrate diverse cultures, and spotlight underrepresented communities.
Distinguished initially as an editor on the fully improvised feature film The Feels (2017), Stephanie transitioned to the studio landscape at Lionsgate. In the Feature Post Production department, she contributed to various studio films including A Simple Favor (2018), The Spy Who Dumped Me (2018), Robin Hood (2018), [link=tt4795124[, and Power Rangers (2017). Stephanie's editorial expertise extends to high-profile narrative TV series, including Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2024), Vida (2018), Brand New Cherry Flavor (2021), Extrapolations (2023), and Lorena (2019).
Beyond the editing bay, Stephanie is a multifaceted creative force. She served as a writer, producer, and editor on the independent birth documentary Born Free (2022). Stepping into the director's chair, she wrote, produced, and edited her debut short film, Elsewhere Love (2023), premiering at the GuadaLAjara Film Festival. With a Master of Fine Arts in Editing from the American Film Institute Conservatory and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Stephanie's artistic journey reflects a commitment to authentic storytelling, pushing boundaries, and amplifying unheard voices in the cinematic landscape.
