Amanda grew up in rural Oregon, where months of near-constant rain produced an almost otherworldly landscape of lush, shadowy foliage under a murky sky - full of life, yet radiating gloom. This is an aesthetic Amanda brings into her writing, utilizing a tone that intertwines the beautiful with the sinister. This wet landscape lent itself to many hours indoors, which Amanda filled by reading - developing a taste for classic literature and particularly drawn to the gothic and macabre, as well as stories where of ethical ambiguity.
Amanda specializes in dark genre scripts that navigate the morally grey intersections of humanity, where characters face impossible choices that lead to equally dire ramifications whatever they choose.
She received degrees from the Colorado Film School and CU-Denver. During that time, she worked on a number of commercial and independent film projects, including as a Production Coordinator on the 2017 Sundance-winning documentary Chasing Coral, before returning to grad school to pursue screenwriting.
Amanda lives in Los Angeles, where she completed her MFA in Writing for the Screen at Loyola Marymount University and was a recipient of the 2018 Henry Bromell Fellowship.
