South Korea born American Filmmaker, Alan Tracy was adopted as an infant into the United States living with his parents and older sister in a suburb of the Twin Cities. Alan decided to become a filmmaker at the age of 8, after watching the movie E.T. with his family. Alan wanted to know who was responsible for creating films and his dad told him, "the director." And that was the moment Alan knew what he wanted to do with his life.
Alan's passion for film continued throughout high school and he watched, studied and scrutinized every movie he possibly could. After graduating, Alan attended Minneapolis Community and Technical College and was awarded a degree in Filmmaking. He continued his education at Metropolitan State University, graduating with a focus on film and entertainment marketing. Alan made his directorial debut in 2005 with student film "Modus Vivendi."
Alan loves all aspects of making movies and has expanded his experience into writing, sound editing, visual effects and production management. He has worked on dozens of films and participated in numerous festivals and screenings.
In 2011, Alan formed independent film production company Colliding Pictures in USA, which has to date produced 20 films as part of his "50 Short Films" initiative. Colliding Pictures is also known for its web series Lab of Laughter (2012) and The Source (2015).
Alan continues writing and directing both features and shorts for Colliding Pictures and in collaboration with other filmmakers. In 2018, Alan is set to shoot feature-length film Electric Addiction.
