Dev believes that experience is the biggest teacher in life, He was born in Chennai and has worked in films, television and advertising for over 20 years. He applies his expertise in the story development and direction of a film, drawing inspiration from people he has met, seen, heard or known. He loves to experiment with topical stories of social and cultural interest that have not yet been narrated and need to be told. Lived and worked in UK for nearly 15 years, Dev has deep roots in Chennai's magical cinema culture from a very young age. With a career that began as a background artist for cell animation to a filmmaker now, his learning's have imparted a wealth of knowledge in the history of cinema and filmography. Dev directed his first feature called 'Gangs of Tooting Broadway'. It is a Brit Asian crime drama about youngsters making the right choice in their lives and what happens if they make a wrong choice. It was well received in the festival circuit, it had its world premiere at the London Indian Film festival, Mumbai International film festival and the Hague Indian film festival are a few. The film got distributed on DVD in UK and Europe. His second film ' A Room to die for' a horror thriller, about a broke young couple who move into an old house with an elderly couple and things go from bad to worse for both which is distributed by Sony Home Entertainment, world wide. As a filmmaker and film lover, he intends to use his energies in creating beautifully crafted films that touch and change people's hearts, while they carry home a part of it to be remembered forever.
