Genevieve Anna Tyrrell was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, on April 4,
1981. She was raised by her mother (Julie Tyrrell) and her grandfather
(Joseph Tyrrell) whom Genevieve lovingly has called "Dad" all her life.
Julie Tyrrell is an artist, and Joseph Tyrrell is a former structural
civil engineer.
Tyrrell grew up in Arnold, Maryland, right next to Annapolis; graduated with a degree in Electronic Media and Film from Towson University in the Baltimore area. Her passions include of course film, but also jazz & blues performance, graphic design/art, and writing.
Within the first few weeks of being in Los Angeles, Genevieve worked as an intern within the prop department during the first season shooting of Deadwood (2004). Afterward, she interned for Producers and Acquisitions Directors at Miramax Dimension Films and later Screen Gems.
Genevieve is sometimes confused with the other Genevieve Tyrrell, a well known costume designer, of the exact same spelling.
