Starring Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), Ashleigh Cummings (The Goldfinch), Caylee Cowan (Sunrise in Heaven) and James Cosmo, The Beast Within, directed by Alexander J. Farrell (Making a Killing) from a script he co-wrote with Greer Ellison (Butterfly Kisses), is set for a UK release later this month.
Living deep in the English countryside Noah (Kit Harington) is the man who has it all; a loving wife, a devoted child and a blood thirsty curse that could kill them all. As his daughter becomes aware of his strange comings and goings on the night of the full moon, reality hits home, her dad is a werewolf and he is anything but kind when the transformation takes hold. When her father escapes one night and poses a risk to all she holds dear, she must make a life-altering decision that will change everything.

Kit Harington and Caolinn Springall in The Beast Within. Alexander J Farrell: 'it's a horror film about the horrors of family life' Photo: Courtesy of Well Go USA Director Alexander J Farrell channels personal experiences through the guise of the werewolf in The Beast Within, co-written by Greer Ellison. The title refers not only to the beast inside of husband and father Noah (Kit Harington), but the threat he poses to his family unit - wife Imogen (Ashleigh Cummings) and ten-year-old daughter Willow (Caoilinn Springall).
Set in 1965 in rural England, Willow secretly follows her parents when they leave their fortified compound and learns the horrifying truth that her father transforms monthly from man to beast. To protect the family, Noah and Imogen continue to execute this monthly ritual, while Willow's grandfather Waylon (James Cosmo) grows increasingly impatient and warns Imogen that enough is enough. One of my favorite films from Fantasia this year is a monster movie that asks its characters to understand what a true monster is. From writer/director Alexander J. Farrell and co-writer Greer Ellison, The Beast Within is a smart and understated yarn about a young girl struggling to understand the cycle of abuse that has become a staple of her family dynamic, and the mysterious creature that her father turns into every full moon.
In The Best Within, a family lives isolated in rural England. They reside in a small farmhouse, walled in and protected by a strong gate. Ten-year-old Willow (Caoillinn Springall) is becoming old enough to start to understand the world around her, and is realizing that her family is keeping secrets from her. Periodically, her father Noah (Kit Harington) disappears. He leaves before nightfall, returning the next day, weak and bloody, being dragged into the house...

The first look at upcoming horror-thriller What Remains of Us has arrived, with a promotional still showing a short-haired Kit Harington wielding an ax and looking ominously in the distance. Considering the plot, this can’t point to anything good…
As per Arclight Films, What Remains of Us has the following synopsis: “Set deep in rural England, the film is framed from the point of view of Harington’s character’s 10-year-old daughter (Caoilinn Springall). Behind the walls of her family’s isolated, fortified compound, she begins to question her unusual life. She discovers that once a month her father turns into a monster. Her parents say the monster is nothing to be afraid of but when the monster escapes, the girl has to confront the harsh reality of her father’s identity and make a life-altering decision.” Kit Harington plays father to Springall (The Midnight Sky), while Ashleigh Cummings plays the mother.

Keshet International (Ki) has racked up several deals for scripted formats and finished tape in the Central and Eastern Europe region.
Ki has sold the format rights for Duo Productions’ 8 x 60’ relationship thriller “Too Much Love” (“L’homme qui aimait trop”) to Slovakian free-to-air broadcaster TV Joj. Originally created by Canadian writing duo Michel d’Astous and Anne Boyer (“Taboo”) for Bell Media’s Quebecois streamer Noovo, the Slovakian adaptation will be produced by Piknik Pictures (“Traffic Light”). Currently in pre-production, with casting in progress, shooting will commence later this year ahead of a 2024 premiere on TV Joj.
Kelly Wright, Ki’s MD of distribution, described the show as “something of a conversation starter because of the anti-hero’s controversial lifestyle choices,” with Marcel Grega, CEO of TV Joj adding that the show “is the perfect example of a modern drama that opens subjects that are considered taboo.”

“Escape From Kabul Airport,” a documentary airing on BBC Two in September, will tell the inside story of the 18 days in August 2021, when the U.S. withdrew its troops from Afghanistan, and the subsequent evacuation of thousands of Afghan citizens from Kabul airport after the Taliban seized the city.
The documentary is an Amos production for the BBC, in association with HBO and in collaboration with Arte France. It is produced by Emmy and BAFTA-winning Dan Reed (“Leaving Neverland”) and directed by Jamie Roberts (“Four Hours At The Capitol”).
The film combines never before seen on-the-ground archival footage from the evacuation, alongside interviews with evacuees, eye-witnesses, U.S. Marines and Taliban fighters.
Roberts said: “When the images of the chaotic Kabul airlift flashed across the news I immediately wanted to know more about what this historic moment looked and felt like on the ground, through the eyes of the people who were there.
