- Lio was almost a victim of human trafficking when they were scammed by someone posing as a modeling agent. He offered them an opportunity to meet some men for employment but they instead found themselves on a dinner date with a Saudi prince who later paid a sum of money for them to be his spouse.
- They placed third on Cycle 11 of America's Next Top Model (2003).
- They and their partner became two-time regional champions and competed twice at the U.S. Junior Figure Skating Championships. They retired from competitive skating at the age of 16 and they continue to skate locally.
- They began skating at the age of two and a half. They trained for most of their childhood and competed in four U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships.
- On the back of their right shoulder they have a tattoo of lyrics from "Plainsong" by The Cure:

- Came out as non-binary pansexual and prefers to be addressed as Lio; their preferred pronouns are they/them.
- They are an alumna of St. Francis High School of Sacramento, California. They even visited on November 29, 2011.
- They have a hook-shaped scar next to their upper lip, which was caused by a swing accident when they were 3 years old.
- They started ice-skating when they were two and a half years old. At the age of 16, they gave up ice-skating after growing too tall to maintain good performances.
