Lindsay Lohan is back! Her latest movie “Falling for Christmas” is currently the number one film on Netflix, quickly rising to the top following its November 10 debut. It’s her first major acting role since “Among the Shadows” in 2019. She plays Sierra Belmont, a young and newly engaged heiress who experiences a skiing accident. After being diagnosed with amnesia, she finds herself in the care of the handsome lodge owner and his daughter.

Chord Overstreet, George Young, Jack Wagner and Olivia Perez are all among the ensemble, but it’s clearly Lohan’s return that sparked headlines and interest in the film. While many cheered for her return, others said she was destined to fail. Lohan definitely shut down the haters, but what are critics saying about the actual movie?

After getting hurt in a skiing accident, a spoiled heiress is taught a lesson of humility and the Christmas spirit.
Movie Review Falling for Christmas (2022)
Are we looking at a Christmas romcom that is formulaic and an easy venture for the production company? If that is what you expect, well then our mission as critics specialized in romcoms (irony), is quite in vain, and we will be reduced to being nothing but entertainment value arbiters.
‘Falling for Christmas’ is an easy movie, to the nth degree, with elements that have used a myriad times and full of clichés in its script, with some good (at times not so good)jokes, and thusly we have a comedy that writes itself. Now, if...

Audiences who click play on Netflix’s “Falling for Christmas” will be the ones doing most of the falling over Lindsay Lohan’s much-anticipated comeback vehicle. Director Janeen Damian’s light-hearted feature, centered on a spoiled hotel heiress tumbling into a character-enriching circumstance, isn’t necessarily served up as the average cup of holiday cheer and rom-com charm. There’s a lot more to it than that. Its subversive spirit, female-forward smarts and sweet sentimentality remix the formulaic and festive, making all things merry and bright.
Wealthy, pampered heiress Sierra Belmont (Lohan) plans to spend a snow-blanketed Christmas at her father’s (Jack Wagner) exclusive ski resort with her narcissistic, social media-obsessed beau, Tad Fairchild (George Young). She anticipates being offered a job by her dad as the property’s “Vice President of Atmosphere” to give her something to do rather than spend her days idly drowning in champagne, caviar and couture.

If you’re going to do an Overboard knockoff that slides into the generic sludge of sentimental holiday-season rom-com, then at least find a couple of leads with the charisma and chemistry to pull it off. Unless you’re feverish with excitement at the prospect of Lindsay Lohan’s screen comeback — and if you are, I’m sorry for your life — Falling for Christmas won’t give you much pleasure beyond the recollection of Goldie and Kurt’s fractious, frisky rapport in the 1987 favorite about an obnoxious amnesiac heiress who falls for a blue-collar misogynist. As a model for stars with terrific comedy chops elevating mediocre material, there are worse starting points.
This sub-Hallmark dreck made by a bunch of hacks that don’t deserve to be named is the first film out of Lohan’s Netflix deal and her first feature in three years.

It's that time of year again. It's November, which means we're getting all the heartwarming Christmas movies we can shove into a stocking. As promised this time last year, Lindsay Lohan has returned to acting in "Falling for Christmas." The new rom-com decked in pine boughs and twinkly lights is on the way to Netflix, though you could be forgiven for thinking it was from Hallmark Channel or Lifetime.
In the film, Lohan plays a hotel heiress who dresses up like Nordic Barbie and treats people like dirt. Then she gets into a skiing accident and loses her memory. Taking care of her is the "blue-collar lodge owner" played by "Glee" star Chord Overstreet. Do you see where this is going? Of course, you do. You've seen "Overboard." Amnesia plus a hot-but-not-rich guy necessitates a stuck-up wealthy lady who learns the value of family and love. Plus, he has a daughter,...

Lindsay Lohan’s big comeback is hitting all the nostalgia buttons with the release of a new version of “Jingle Bell Rock.” As you surely remember, the countryfied yuletide tune, first popularized by Bobby Helms in 1957, appeared in a borderline-racy scene in Lohan’s 2004 sensation “Mean Girls.” With the imminent release of “Falling For Christmas,” she and rapper Ali Tomineek have collaborated on a mall Pa-ready update to the update.
“Falling For Christmas” co-stars Chord Overstreet, George Young, Jack Wagner, and Linsday’s younger sister Alina Lohan. In it, our star plays an heiress who befalls a skiing accident, suffers amnesia and, no doubt learns the true meaning of Christmas while staring into hunky Overstreet’s dreamy eyes.
This summer, the 36-year-old Dubai-based Lohan married her boyfriend Bader Shammas. Earlier in the year, she starred in a Super Bowl ad for Planet Fitness with William Shatner, Dennis Rodman, and Danny Trejo...

"They're probably out looking for you right now." Netflix has revealed the trailer for a romantic comedy called Falling for Christmas, marking the directorial debut of a producer named Janeen Damian. This looks like a Hallmark channel holiday movie, with a few extra wacky jokes thrown in (that racoon bit at the end what?!?!). A newly engaged, spoiled hotel heiress falls into a freak skiing accident, and awakens with total amnesia. She finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter in the days leading up to Christmas. This features a script that almost feels like was specifically written for Lindsay Lohan, playing up the "you have to forgot about someone fancy and famous to rediscover them" angle quite a damn bit. But it does look somewhat amusing. In addition to Lohan, cast also includes Chord Overstreet, George Young, Jack Wagner, Olivia Perez, Alejandra Flores,...

Start your holiday countdown now: Lindsay Lohan's Netflix Christmas movie is heading to the streamer in November. The movie, Lohan's first since 2019's "Among the Shadows," looks like a classic holiday rom-com with a heaping helping of candy canes and jingle bells on top. Lohan stars alongside "Glee" alum Chord Overstreet. In the trailer for the movie, released Oct. 7, Lohan and Overstreet's yuletide antics - and love story - are soundtracked with the song "Jingle Bell Rock," which, of course, Lohan famously sang in "Mean Girls."

The latest horror flick from director James Wan, Malignant is a bizarre mixture of the brilliant and the terrible. It’s hard to think of a comparable film that hits both the highs and the lows that Malignant does. As a result, it’s entirely possible that you’ll love it and hate it in equal measure.
The film begins with a terribly acted prologue in which an unseen entity kills lots of people in a hospital and a po-faced doctor declares, “It’s time to cut out the cancer!” We then cut to the present day, where heavily pregnant Madison (Annabelle Wallis) is beaten by her abusive husband (Jake Abel), so badly that the back of her head bleeds profusely.

The folks at The CW are hoping there's room for one more with their Containment series. How will this one perform in the ratings? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
On Containment, a mysterious and lethal epidemic breaks out in Atlanta and a wide reaching urban quarantine is quickly enforced. The cast includes David Gyasi, Christina Moses, Chris Wood, Kristen Gutoskie, Claudia Black, George Young, Hanna Mangan Lawrence, and Trevor St. John.

From comic-book adaptations to sci-fi, fantasy and horror. Here are the new geek-skewed shows coming to Us TV in 2016...

So there’s a lot of comic-book adaptations coming up in 2016 from Marvel, DC and others, but genre TV is represented across the board with science-fiction, fantasy and horror represented at pretty much every network and cable channel in the Us.
Here's some of the geek TV that will be making its way to us from the Us next year.

Since The CW already has 10 returning shows on tap for the 2015-2016 season, the network isn't announcing schedule timetables or episode counts yet. Let's get details: "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" focuses on time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter, who has to recruit a rag-tag team of heroes and villains to help prevent an apocalypse that could impact not only Earth,...

Of late, England has produced series after series of awkward yet intelligently goofy sitcoms that Hollywood inevitably cannibalizes. The web series The Brian Jackson Show is firmly of this tradition. Like his home country, Brian Jackson (Pietro Herrera) is a minor menace. I couldn’t say if he was ever held power over vast dominions, but he certainly leaves a noticeable trail of destruction. Presumably in his late-twenties, Jackson...
