James Murphy has been enthralled with visual storytelling from a very young age, having made his parents' old VHS camcorder his own. Since then, he has participated in numerous film festivals and challenges, such as the Atlanta Film Festival, Campus MovieFest, and the 48 Hour Film Project.
Born in Florida, he has spent most of his life in Alabama, Georgia, and Texas.
