Rachel Murrell(I)

Rachel Murrell is a BAFTA/Rocliffe finalist, and a graduate of the prestigious Women in Film & TV Mentoring Scheme, where her mentor is the acclaimed screenwriter Abi Morgan. Rachel writes prime time drama and comedy-drama about women, girls, and queer lives, creating character-led stories to explore contemporary themes from misogyny to the climate emergency. She began her screenwriting career in children's television where she wrote 180+ episodes of animation and played a key role in developing three animated series into global hits. She has also written two animated features. Before becoming a screenwriter full-time, Rachel was head of development at Picture Palace TV and Red Rooster TV, and prior to that was a journalist.
