Natasha has faced significant challenges in her life, many of which have shaped her as an actress. One of the most defining moments was surviving Hurricane Katrina in 2005, a natural disaster that led her to relocate to Los Angeles. I watched some of that dismissed as just a dream, some boxed in just within the city and most of the talent die in the streets. My parents, both high school dropouts, did what they could with what little they knew. Pursuing a career in the arts was unheard of in my family-it was either become a lawyer or a doctor, but most importantly, just graduate high school.
Moving to Los Angeles, I realized how much more there was to life and how important it was to never give up on that little girl who dreamed the impossible. Because I wasn't nurtured or supported in that way, I learned to rely on myself, but I also discovered how competitive and lonely that could be. I turned to God, got wiser, stronger, smarter and determined. I began aspiring for things I once never knew existed. No longer doubting my dreams, but living them. I knew my purpose. It was no longer an option-it was my destiny."
