The Washington, D.C. native is certainly not new to the big or small screens. She's been seen on hit shows such as Young & the Restless, Hollywood Height and Curb Your Enthusiasm. She has co-starred in a string of Lifetime, Hallmark and Ion Original movies including The Christmas Gift, 12 Wishes for Christmas and The Wish List.
Hailed as an "actress of unlimited depth" and one who "commands the stage with her presence," Marliss boasts a storied career in theater spanning two decades. The classically trained actress, singer and dancer made her mark in national tours and regional theater productions including The Lion King, Hairspray, AIDA, Harlem Nights, Little Shop of Horrors, the long running Disney shows Playhouse Disney Live onstage and Hoop Dee Doo Revue as Miss Flora, becoming the second African American woman to land this role. As her a result of her amazing performance, she went on to star in the pilot series Playhouse Disney Lunchtime.
Equally comfortable in films, television and theater as she is in concert stages, Marliss has performed with notable greats such as Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker, Kenny Loggins, Dave Brubeck, Emily King and Kate Earl among others.
Marliss attended Berklee College of Music and is a graduate of Jacksonville University and the famed Duke Ellington School of the Arts. She resides in Atlanta with her husband.
