Sólveig Gudmundsdottir is an award winning actress born in Reykjavik in 1977. Sólveig studied acting at the Arts Educational School of Acting in London and graduated in 2002. Since then she has worked both in theatre and film/TV.
Solveig won the Icelandic theatre awards GRIMAN for best actress in a leading role both in 2017 for Soley Ros and 2019 for her role in Rejunion, as well as the Critics Choice Awards in 2017 for her roles in Soley Ros and EVIL.
Solveig is also a part of the writers team for theatre and film that won the Edda TV and film awards for best drama 2019 for Manners where Solveig played the female lead. Her latest film credits include Maria in the film Fjallid (2024) and Karen in TV series Darkness (2024) directed by Lasse Hallstrom
