Ian grew up in rural Iowa, near the town of Cedar Rapids. A great deal
of his time was spent shooting short films and documentary pieces,
often enlisting his childhood friends as actors and subjects. He
continued his passion for filmmaking throughout high school and
college, eventually moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in
screenwriting and production.
