Wilder is an actor, writer, director, born and raised in Los Angeles. Son of renowned assemblage artist George Herms, his childhood was constant immersion in art from day one. His mother Gaylyn, an art-history/science teacher, helped balance the craziness of being the son of an artist. Growing up in the California sun, Wilder would explore many different art forms before settling on Cinema. He studied fine art and film in high school, joined the Inner City Filmmakers program immediately after, then left the world of cinema for several years to pursue Chinese martial arts and photography. After attaining his black belt in Wushu and Kickboxing, and building up a decent photography portfolio, he returned to the world of filmmaking. He began his journey back to Cinema working for others in about every position you could hold on a film set, from P.A. to D.P. He also amassed many, many hours of acting along the way, developing a deep appreciation for the craft. With a passionate heart and a wealth experiences from his many paths, he returned to Cinema as a director and leads the team at Blue Kanji Films. He constantly strives to bring much of the honor, humility, and thrill of martial arts to the screen. With a photographer's eye and an actor's heart, Wilder pushes forward on his artistic Journey.
