Born in Ankara, Catay graduated from Bilkent University-Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences before completing his education in Los Angeles at UCLAs School of Film and Television. Catay has produced many of Turkey's most popular television dramas including 2008's ground breaking ASK-I MEMNU (Forbidden Love). Followed by EZEL, KUZEY GUNEY, FATMAGUL, SON (The End), KARADAYI, KURT SEYIT & SHURA, KARA PARA ASK (Black Money Love), MED CEZIR (The O.C. adaptation), ICERDE (Insider), CESUR VE GUZEL (Brave and Beautiful), BU SEHIR ARKANDAN GELECEK (Heart of The City), FI (Phi), UFAK TEFEK CINAYETLER (Stiletto Vendetta), CUKUR - 4 Seasons (The Pit), SAHSIYET (PERSONA), 8.GUN (The 8.th Day), CARPISMA (Crash), SAHIN TEPESI (Falcon Crest adaptation), KUZGUN, ZEMHERI (Love Storm) and BABIL (The Choice) produced in 2020. Today Turkey is the world's second-largest exporter of televised content, and Catay has continued to push the envelop with recent series as MENAJERIMI ARA (The Agency- adaptation of Call My Agent) and ALEV ALEV (Flames of Fate). With KARA SEVDA (Endless Love) he won Turkey's first International Emmy Award, in the "Best Telenovela" category. He is also the Producer of SAHSIYET (Persona) in which Haluk Bilginer was awarded for "Best Performance By An Actor" at the International Emmy Awards, in 2019.
