He, the director, was destined to be a man who struggles through the cracks. Without the "cracks", it is impossible to see the scars, and no scars no cure.
Ye Zheng was born in the mid-1970s, just in the crack between China's famous Cultural Revolution generation and the country's epochal post-1980s generation. However, he believes that his generation also has a very unique existence value, especially in the inheritance of values. Since their growth coincided with the transition period of this huge country, the choice of what to inherit and what to give up has a significant impact on the growth and development of China's subsequent generations.
Ye Zheng's parents came from Guangdong in southern China and Heilongjiang in northern China, which are three or four thousand kilometers apart. Therefore, born in Beijing, Ye Zheng's lifestyle and habits are also a combination of the two major cultures of China's south and north. As people like Zheng increase in China, this blending of lives lays the foundation for the country's future political, economic and cultural integration.
In the early days of the founding of China, Ye Zheng's parents represented the lowest class of rural people. For a long time in the last century, due to the difference between the rich and the poor, the difference in the nature of work, and the difference in the level of development in different places, China formed a social phenomenon in which urban people looked down on rural people and people in big cities looked down on people in small cities. At the height of this conflict, there was even a hint of racial discrimination. Therefore, countless people try to squeeze into the big city and change their identity. In this context, Ye Zheng's parents, with their own efforts and talents, as well as certain opportunities, stood out in their respective cultural work fields and achieved certain achievements, so they stayed in Beijing and settled down. This changed not only their own social class, but also the fate of their descendants. In such a family environment, Ye Zheng's ideological system integrated the ideology of the lower class and the middle class from an early age.
Ye Zheng graduated from Renmin University of China with a bachelor's degree in journalism and post-graduated from South Bank University of England with a master's degree in international business. The education and life experience both in Chinese and Western cultures have a complementary effect on the establishment of his knowledge system and the sense of worth.
In terms of personal career, under the influence of his parents, Ye Zheng initially chose to become a journalist, and he tried to convey real stories and real thoughts to the world with his pen. During his tenure at the Beijing Youth Daily, he had the courage to speak out, causing many wronged people of different classes to come here and give him exclusive news clues without expecting any reward from the landlord. This often allowed him to write many in-depth exclusive stories. For example, in 2005, the celebrity kidnapping case that caused a stir in China, the star involved said that he would only accept interviews with Ye Zheng in the whole country. The list goes on.
However, in more than ten years of media experience, Ye Zheng finally realized that there are many words in the real society that the journalist industry cannot directly express. So, he chose to enter the film and television industry ten years ago, determined to use another way of expression to record the world. Zheng Ye believes that the contradictions between people, the dark side of society and various ugly political double standards caused by differences in culture, class, wealth and cognition will always exist... But people's eyes, which are good at finding beauty, will always exist too, and will always shine unswerving like the stars in the dark universe! This is also the original intention of Ye Zheng's film debut "Wo shu 123" (English name: Ye and Guoguo). All that has been written about his personal history, his background, and the values that have bridged those cracks are reflected in the film. We know that the solution to cracks is inclusiveness, and inclusiveness requires sincerity. Zheng Ye believes that the sincerest people in the world are children, and the sincerest thing is that children say: I promise!
