Hold onto your overs and side your ways, Paul Giamatti is launching straight out of his The Holdovers Oscar nomination back into Downton in a new screen adaptation from original scribe Julian Fellowes.

Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007), it wasn’t until Juno (2007) that he became a brand name, later appearing in Burn After Reading (2008), La La Land (2016), Justice League (2017), Being the Ricardos (2021), and other films. The gripping biopic “Experimenter” arrives to Plex to start the month. Based on the true story of social psychologist Stanley Milgram, the film focuses on the 1961 behavior experiments at Yale University that tested the willingness of ordinary humans to obey an authority figure while administering electric shocks to strangers, as well as the aftermath of the experiments and the public outcry of their ethics.

The Vanishing Triangle is coming soon to Sundance Now and AMC . Ivan Kavanagh created the six-episode mystery thriller series.

Starring India Mullen and Allen Leech as an investigative journalist and a detective, the series is a dramatization of cases in Ireland's Vanishing Triangle. Between the late 1980s and late 1990s, 10 high-profile women went missing without a trace, and three were murdered.

UK production company is looking to make as many as 10 films this year.

Bardot and Cold Meat producer Featuristic Films has appointed former Motion Picture Capital production executive Laura Brook as head of film.

The appointment was confirmed this week by Julien Loeffler, managing director at the London-based company which is now looking to expand.

Brook’s appointment follows on from that of former UKTV and Wag Entertainment exec Meredith Coral as Featuristic Films’ head of TV last year.

At Motion Picture Capital Brook worked on projects such as Netflix’s The Titan and Kodachrome with Ed Harris, Elizabeth Olsen and Jason Sudeikis.

Singer Niall Horan would love to have his doppelganger friend Allen Leech or Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio to play him in a ‘One Direction’ biopic.

The 29-year-old singer wants fellow Irishman Allen, 41, who he is often compared to, or the 48-year-old “Titanic” star to portray him if there is ever a movie about the popular boy band — which was also comprised of Harry Styles, 29, Louis Tomlinson, 31, Liam Payne, 29, and formerly, Zayn Malik, 30, reports aceshowbiz.com.

“Currently, it would be Allen Leech from ‘Downton Abbey’. I met him in a coffee shop in LA one time and we were just doing the whole, ‘We look like each other.’ Him or (Leonardo) DiCaprio. One of them,” Niall said to Et Canada.

It comes after Allen tipped Niall to play a young Tom Branson — his role in the period drama — if there is ever a spin-off of ‘Downton Abbey’.

Pic is produced by Randle Schumacher (3 Geezers!) and is directed by Michelle Schumacher (I’m Not Here) from a script co-written with Carolyn Carpenter. Led by Simmons (Whiplash), it also stars Allen Leech (Downton Abbey: A New Era), Fernanda Urrejola (Cry Macho) and Isabelle Anaya (Donny’s Bar Mitzvah).

The deal was negotiated between Signature’s Director of Acquisitions & Development Elizabeth Williams and Voltage Pictures’ President and COO Jonathan Deckter.

He is the second Pixar veteran to join Passion in the past year, following David Park’s move to be Head of Production and Exec Producer. Exclusive: Allen Leech and India Mullen will lead the cast of an Irish drama series for AMC Networks’ Sundance Now and local broadcaster Virgin Media Television, we’ve learned.

The pair will topline six-part drama The Vanishing Triangle, which goes into production later this year with a U.S.-UK-Ireland production set-up, and Eccho Rights attached as international distributor. The show is inspired on true events that shook Ireland in the 1990s, when several women disappeared. While the characters and events in the series are fictional, the producers have spoken to several of the real life victims’ families, and hope the show will keep their stories in the Irish public’s mind. The show title is regularly used in the Irish media to refer to the events, which began with the disappearance of American woman Annie McCarrick in 1993 and spiraled to involve many similar cases.

Thriller film ‘You Can’t Run Forever’, which stars Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons, has wrapped up its principal photography and the first stills from the film are here.

It may be this year’s ‘comfort food’ film but Julian Fellowes’ second theatrical sequel to his revered long-running TV show is quality goods — and may be better than the first one. Almost every actor is back, seemingly pleased as plum puddings to repeat their roles as either landed nobility or downstairs staff. The storyline ties a final bow on some characters and plot lines, and in a far more pleasing way than we thought possible. Even casual fans of the franchise ought to be charmed.

Hugh Bonneville, who has been with the franchise since the beginning, thinks the franchise could be over after the latest movie.

“I suspect, if there is [a new series], it would be a reboot. An origin story or something like that,” the star said to The Hollywood Reporter of rumors of a TV comeback.

The star said that Bridgerton highlighted that "there's clearly an appetite for these sorts of shows."

"Bridgerton has been a magnificent success,” he continued.

“So if you can capture the younger generation to enjoy people in frocks, then go for it.”

Bonneville went on to state that it is "immensely unlikely" the original cast would return for future projects.

French sales company WTFilms has taken world rights on Colorado Rockies-set survival thriller Cold Meat, featuring Downton Abbey star Allen Leech in the lead role.

It is Paris-based WTFilm’s second collaboration with UK production company Featuristic Films, after working together on James Kermack’s action thriller Knuckledust in 2020.
