A native of Czech Republic, Martin Matiasek received his M.F.A. in
Cinematography from Prague's prestigious FAMU Academy where his work
garnered several awards including two Best Cinematography Awards on
FAMU festival and two awards of The Association of Czech
Cinematographers "Jaroslav Kucera Award". Martin's recent works as a
cinematographer include feature length films as well as shorts that
earned awards such as Special Jury Prize for Best Narrative Short Film
Tribeca Film Festival in New York or Best Cinematography Sapporo
International Film Festival in Japan. His own short film "A Gallery of
Human Relationships; Claire" was showcased at the 2004 Cannes Film
Festival. Martin also worked as an 2nd Unit Director of Photography and
an operator for the Academy Award nominated film "Zelary".
