Alena Vránová was supposed to lose her life because I drowned her in the bathtub. The deal was that if she couldn't breathe, she'd raise her hand, knock on the wall and I'd let her go. But she'd had her septum operated on. When she drank the water, it must have entered her lungs. Suddenly she forgot the signal, stopped struggling, and I kept going. When the director said stop, Alena remained underwater. That shot is used in the film. They called a doctor right away and everything was fine.
