Jamie Moreland is a British journalist with BBC News. He is known for reporting, presenting, producing, writing, filming and editing news across the BBC's online, television, radio and social media output.
He grew up in south London and studied Film and Media Production at The Brit School while running a digital student news outlet. He completed work experience at Sky and on the set of 'Informer' (an Amazon Prime and BBC One drama).
Joining BBC London aged 18 as a regional journalist, he covered a range of stories from YouTubers standing in the mayoral election to how one of Britain's most wanted killers was caught.
He pioneered the use of 360° cameras on BBC London's website with exclusive videos from inside Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, as well as helped drive the launch and growth of the region's social media accounts.
In 2020, he won the Circom Award for Young OnScreen Talent with a 'refreshing and original' entry to the competition of European regional broadcasters.
Jamie joined the Special Projects team at BBC News in May 2022, reporting on the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the broadcaster's 100th anniversary, resignations of prime ministers Boris Johnson and Liz Truss, as well as the cost of living crisis.
He covers major news stories and angles resonating with younger audiences in the UK and around the world.
