The “Bedtime Stories” Christmas lineup also includes former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, actor Richard E. Grant, Paralympian Lora Fachie, French pop sensation Christine and the Queens and CBeebies veteran Justin Fletcher.

Joshua will be reading the 1962 book “The Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats on Dec. 22. “The Snowy Day” features one of the earliest Black protagonists in a major children’s book.

The BAFTA has revealed nominations for its Children and Young People Awards, which are returning for the first time in three years.

The BBC’s “Dodger” and “The Snail and the Whale” lead with three nominations each, followed by two nominations for “The Amazing World of Gumball,” “Jamie Johnson,” “JoJo & Gran Gran” and “Silverpoint.”

The ceremony will take place in London on Nov. 27, where 14 categories will be awarded in recognition of craft, performance, and games. All awards are voted on by BAFTA’s membership of children’s industry professionals. The ceremony will be hosted by TV and radio presenter Lindsey Russell.

Take your finger and touch your keyboard, think three times and off you go … We need your questions for the UK supremo of children’s television, Justin Fletcher.

Fletcher, 51, generally has at least three different shows on each day as linchpins of the CBeebies schedule: Justin’s House, which has lately returned for a new series in the breakfast spot, and Something Special, now on its 12th series (and nearly 20th year).

Since he first emerged in 1995 with a bit part in Wallace and Grommit film A Close Shave, Shaun The Sheep has gone on to become the franchise's breakout star, with no fewer than five series of his adventures broadcast in 180 countries around the world. His Shaun The Sheep Movie in 2015 was a popular hit and won him his first Oscar nomination. This film has occasioned his second. This is a big success for a small sheep, but in this film, Shaun has his sights set even higher. Never mind international stardom - he's ready to go interplanetary.

Hopping back onto the big screen, the ovine movie star has a close encounter of the third kind in “A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon,” a quick-witted and uproarious homage to the sci-fi genre like only the stop-motion geniuses at Aardman Animations could imagine and handcraft.

Everyday sheep-nanigans for Shaun (voiced by bah expert Justin Fletcher) and the flock — including but not limited to pulling wild stunts that upset strict sheep dog Bitzer (John Sparkes provides the barks and grunts) — take a turn for the extraterrestrial when a spaceship lands nearby and a UFO craze possesses locals and tourists.

Ambling onto screens with a wiggle and a shake of its gingerbread bottom for this weekend only, the CBeebies Christmas Show: Hansel & Gretel is a gentle and festive outing for very little ones.

Bookended by a wander through the woods with the broad, recognisable smile and safe hands of Justin Fletcher, the majority of this feature takes place at a live recording of this year’s CBeebies panto filmed at Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre. With shots of the stage and audience to establish location and atmosphere before the Pov settles down to primarily watch from a few rows back, CBeebies’ take on Hansel & Gretel offers a nice (and ever-reliable way) way to introduce the art form to younger audiences.

Modern Films, the UK distribution and production banner led by Eve Gabereau, has partnered with the BBC for a second year in taking on the UK theatrical rights to the annual CBeebies Christmas Show and is planning an event cinema release.

Through its family-focused brand, Modern Films Family, the company has booked the stage production of Hansel & Gretel into more than 300 UK cinemas including Cineworld, Vue, Odeon, Showcase and Picturehouse Cinemas from November 30 to December 1. Encore screenings are being planned throughout December.

Event cinema release to take place on Dec 15.

Modern Films, the UK distribution banner run by former Soda Pictures boss Eve Gabereau, has taken theatrical rights to CBeebies Christmas special Thumbelina and is planning a significant event cinema release.

Through its family-focused banner Modern Films Family the company has already booked the one-day screening (December 15) into 300 UK cinemas and is talking to more sites now. It is also planning a premiere in London’s Leicester Square on December 9, and encore showings after that initial date.

Thumbelina is the latest in a series of annual Christmas specials produced by BBC Children’s In House Productions.

After a cameo appearance alongside Wallace and Gromit in A Close Shave, Shaun the Sheep found his way to the small screen for a Cbbc spinoff in 2007 and he's been quietly delivering the goods there ever since. The TV show plays out the characters' adventures in bite-size 7-minute instalments, but Aardman has now extended the concept to feature-length running time for Shaun the Sheep The Movie.

Though this might sound like stretching an idea thin, directors Mark Burton and Richard Starzack make it all work fantastically well, crafting a stop-motion animation packed with an abundance of wit, charm and invention.

The preview shows Shaun and his flock forming a makeshift baa-bershop quartet to sing along to Ash frontman Tim Wheeler's track for the film, 'Feel Like Summer'.

Dig past the litterfall of Kray Brothers biopics and tales of nubile teens on camping trips gone wrong, and you’ll unearth plenty for the UK film industry to boast about in 2015. From sci-fi romps and thrillers like Robot Overlords and Ex Machina to dramas like High-Rise, comedies like War On Everyone, spy flicks like Spectre and kids’ films like Bill, there’s no shortage of inventive, highly promising cinema coming from these isles.

We’ve included a few choice co-productions in 2015’s pick of the year’s most interesting-looking pictures, which bolsters our list in both size and breadth (and mostly means we Brits can claim partial credit for ace-sounding dystopian flick The Lobster).

Compiling a list of next year's most exciting films is extremely difficult. What do you put in? What do you leave out? Those are some of the questions we've had to ask ourselves as we drew up the long-list of our most anticipated films of 2015. In an attempt to limit the number of sequels which can fill up a list such as this, we've left out something like Fast & Furious 7, even though we're fairly sure it'll be a lot of fun. Jason Donovan has announced he will be a voice actor in new CBeebies cartoon Boj.

The show stars Boj the Bilby, a rare marsupial from the Australian Outback who burrows to Giggly Park with his musical parents Mimi and Pops. They live in an underground burrow at the heart of their new neighbourhood.

Main character Boj will create new friendships and try to bring together his new community.

Boj has been described as a free-thinking comedy cartoon that encourages children to put their differences aside and get along with each other.

Donovan, who will be the voice of Pops, said of his new role: "It's a pleasure to be involved in such a well-crafted project. I'm interested in great characters, great stories, great songs and Boj has all those things and more.

"As a good Aussie dad Pops is very close to my heart and I'm looking forward to that...

The BAFTA Children's Awards 2013 nominations have been announced today (October 22) and acclaimed supernatural drama Wolfblood is among the shows battling for the top gongs.

BT Sport's Jake Humphrey will host the ceremony, which celebrates the best in children's media, on Sunday, November 24 at London's Hilton hotel.

Peppa Pig, The Amazing World of Gumball and Horrible Histories are also nominated for accolades.

The 'Presenter' category will see BAFTA's most-awarded children's performer Justin Fletcher, Sam and Mark, Barney Harwood and Chris Jarvis competing for the prize.

"Presenting the British Academy Children's Awards is a way for me to say thank you to children's TV for the career it has given me, and I can't wait," said Humphrey.

The Christmas countdown has officially started, folks. Yes my friends, Peppa Pig (Ok, well the voice of, Harley Bird), Justin 'Mr Tumble' Fletcher and an assortment of popstars and Olympians were there to ensure the annual bash was as unforgettable as ever.
