On February 14, 2003, Carr was diagnosed with a rare stage IV cancer called epithelioid hemangioendothelioma affecting her liver and lungs. She was given ten years to live because there no treatment for this type of cancer. Thankfully her expiration date was inaccurate and she still doing relatively well.
