Brian Wade is an Award Winning Special Makeup Effects Artist turned character/creature designer and sculptor. On March 27, 2022 his artistic contributions for sculpting all of Jessica Chastain's makeups worn for the entirety of the film "EYES OF TAMMY FAYE" supervised and applied by Academy Award winning Makeup Artist Justin Raleigh, won the Academy Award for Best Achievement in Makeup for the 2022 Oscars. "EYES OF TAMMY FAYE" also won the BAFTA Award for Best Makeup & Hair in 2022, the Critics' Choice Movie Award in 2022 for Best Makeup, the Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards in 2022 for Best Makeup, the Chicago Indie Critics Awards (CIC) in 2022 for Best Makeup, the Gold Derby Awards in 2022 for Best Makeup, the Hollywood Critics Association Award in 2022 for Best Makeup, and the Online Film & Television Association in 2022 for Best Makeup.
On February 24th, 2019 his creative contributions for sculpting all of Christian Bale's and Amy Adams' prosthetic makeups for the film "VICE" supervised and applied by Multi-Academy Award winning makeup artist Greg Cannom, won the Academy Award for Achievement in Makeup at the 2019 Oscars. "VICE" also won the 2019 Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Awards, the 2019 Online Film & Television Association Award for best makeup and the 2019 Gold Derby Awards for Best Makeup. "VICE" was also nominated for best makeup by The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), nominated for the 2019 Best Makeup by Awards Circuit Community Awards, and nominated for the 2019 International Online Cinema Awards (INOCA).
On December 10, of 2022 Brian Wade's creative talents to the TV series "The Quest" contributed along with fellow artists at SPECTRAL MOTION INC. for it to be the WINNER the 2022 CHILDRENS EMMY AWARD for "OUTSTANDING SPECIAL EFFECTS, COSTUMES, HAIR and MAKEUP"
May 22, 1996 Brian Wade's singular contributions to the design and sculpture of "The Lady in White" character's prosthetic makeup, for the notable daytime series, "DAYS OF OUR LIVES" won the EMMY AWARD for "Makeup For A Drama Series" and he was awarded an HONOR from the NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES.
With over 44 years of experience designing and creating characters and creatures for film and television, his film and television work includes The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Obi-Wan Kenobi, American Crime Story, Army Of The Dead, VICE, Aquaman, Black Panther, Stranger Things, Westworld (HBO), Batman vs. Superman, Daredevil (Netflix), The Exorcist III, The Omen (2006), Gremlens 2, Back to The Future 3, Star Trek 3 and 4, Nightmare On Elm Street 3 and 4, X Files, Blade, The Blob, Stuart Little, Harry and the Hendersons, The Terminator and John Carpenter's The Thing. He designed the title character "Stuart Little" for Sony Imageworks, which was popular and starred Michael J. Fox, Gina Davis and Hugh Laurie. to much box office success and went on to release a sequel "Stuart Little 2" and animated film as well "Stuart Little 3: Call of the Wild". He has also co-created and co-sculpted several large-scale video game characters for Riot Games, Red 5 Studios and Blizzard Entertainment. Having worked with and apprenticed under industry legends and Academy Award Winning artists Rick Baker, Stan Winston, Rob Bottin, and Greg Cannom. With over 170 credits in some of the greatest film and TV projects of nearly four decades, Brian has solidified himself as a true industry legend.
