The show’s Aug. 9 epiode, which also marked co-showrunner Melinda Hsu Taylor’s directorial debut, zeroed in on two more things the show has always done well, with Ace’s family hosting a beautiful, authentic (and occasionally chaotic) seder dinner at The Claw, with much of the meaning and tradition being conveyed through American Sign Language (Asl).

After being referenced in ’80s slashers He Knows You’re Alone and Final Exam, it went on to at least partially inspire five slashers from the ’90s: Candyman, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Urban Legend, Campfire Tales, and Lovers Lane. The Valentine’s Day slasher Lovers Lane (watch it Here) isn’t a very popular movie, but that isn’t stopping the folks at Arrow Video from giving it a special edition Blu-ray release… although they’re doing a couple months after Valentine’s Day, so genre fans won’t be able to add it to their collections in time for the holiday this year. The upcoming fourth season of the CW’s “Nancy Drew” series will be its last. A premiere date has yet to be announced.

The teen mystery drama premiered in 2019 and follows Nancy (Kennedy McMann) as she solves mysteries — both earthbound and supernatural — in her haunted hometown of Horseshoe Bay, Maine. Scott Wolf, Leah Lewis, Maddison Jaizani, Tunji Kasim, Alex Saxon and Riley Smith also star.

Noga Landau and Melinda Hsu Taylor serve showrunners, and executive produce alongside Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Lis Rowinski, Alex Taub, Larry Teng and S. Lily Hui. CBS Studios produces in association with Schwartz and Savage’s Fake Empire.

Nancy Drew is sticking around The CW for one last case.

The drama starring Kennedy McMann as the teen sleuth will end with its upcoming fourth season on the broadcast network that is now owned by station group Nexstar. Sources say cast and crew were informed of the decision Wednesday afternoon. Season four is currently in production, with the fourth and final season set to be part of The CW’s midseason schedule next year. (A formal premiere date has not yet been announced.)

That was the perfect follow-up to Nancy Drew Season 3 Episode 1.

Nancy Drew Season 3 Episode 2 picked away at the overarching mystery while delving deeper into the wants of the characters, providing us with one of the best episodes of the series.

Temperance continues to impress. Seriously, introducing a new villain is always tough on shows, but she has just enough heart (heh!) to get on board with.

You know she's scheming, but if she helps characters like Bess realize their full potential along the way, who are we to judge?

I've always known there was more to Bess than meets the eye, and hopefully, her abilities can help the Drew Crew because something about the new perils in town makes me believe they're going to need all the help they can get.

For a season premiere, that was a lot of twists, turns, and everything you'd expect from a whole season of this mystery drama.

Not many shows can handle that amount of drama, but if Nancy Drew Season 3 Episode 1 is the shape of things to come, we might get our best season yet in Nancy Drew Season 3.

It's fascinating to watch Nancy continue to make these great strides in her life and her realization that she would grow where she was planted, meaning she would live in Horseshoe Bay as the Community Police Liason Officer.

Taking Nancy away from the town to college would be too detrimental to the flow of the show. There's a certain element of the character having to stay in town because, you know, bodies are piling up.

Seriously, will these characters ever get a break?

Kennedy McMann continued to kill it as this multi-layered take on the character.

Bad things tend to happen when Nancy Drew gets a flashlight in her hand, and TVLine’s exclusive first look at the show’s upcoming second season is no exception.

The CW drama’s second season (Jan. 21, 9/8c) thrusts the Drew Crew into a new mystery when an unidentified young woman is attacked… and says Nancy’s name right before losing consciousness. And if it goes anything like the big mystery from Season 1 — which ended with Nancy discovering that her entire life has been a lie — things are bound to get even more personal for her.

Are you a big Nancy Drew fan? According to Deadline, The CW is developing a spin-off TV show called Tom Swift.

Based on the Carolyn Keene book series, Nancy Drew follows the titular teen detective as an adult who returns to solving crimes because of a case involving her family. The cast includes Kennedy McMann, Scott Wolf, Alex Saxon, Leah Lewis, Maddison Jaizani, Tunji Kasim, Riley Smith, and Alvina August. The second season debuts on January 20th on The CW.

The New York Comic Con panel for The CW’s Nancy Drew didn’t waste any time getting into things as the show’s stars Kennedy McMann (Nancy Drew), Scott Wolf (Carson Drew), Alex Saxon (Ace), Leah Lewis (George Fan), Maddison Jaizani (Bess Marvin), Tunji Kasim (Ned “Nick” Nickerson) and Riley Smith (Ryan Hudson) participated in a lightning round of questions in-character before creator/executive producer Noga Landau and showrunner/executive producer Melinda Hsu Taylor joined in on the fun.

The actors and EPs talked about their favorite moments of the freshman season based on the iconic mystery novels before Landau dived into the meat of the conversation: what can we expect for season two?

If you thought Nancy Drew was going to take its foot off the proverbial gas just because it solved its primary mystery the last time the show was on the air back in March, well, don’t fret. “The Girl in the Locket” keeps things going full speed ahead, completely upending several relationships, killing off a key character, and keeping the creep factor firmly turned up to eleven.

Nancy Drew has only gotten stronger in the back half of its first season, proving that it’s the sort of show willing to swing for the fences when it comes to storytelling and trust its audience to come along for the ride. Nancy Drew certainly hasn’t shied away from telling unexpected stories. This is a take on the original series of novels that does its best to reinvent a classic heroine for the modern age, complete with messy friendships, death, sex and actual, literal ghosts. That its central mystery should turn out to be something completely different than what we all initially expected…well. It’s not like the show didn’t warn us, right?

“The Haunting of Nancy Drew” feels like season finale – an hour packed full of answers, twists, and even more shocking revelations. After Tiffany Hudson’s killer was exposed, most of us probably expected the series’ other dead girl mystery would at least carry on through the rest of the show’s first season, before setting up another major supernaturally-tinged case for Nancy to tackle in Season 2.
