Taiwan-based development and production operation Organic Media is teaming up with Los Angeles-based sales agency and content aggregator Shoreline Entertainment in a strategic pact that sees Shoreline take responsibility for much of Organic’s sales function.
The pairing will make its debut at this week’s MIPCOM TV rights market in Cannes. It will follow that with an appearance at the American Film Market in Santa Monica in early November.
Organic was co-founded in 2019 by veteran sales and production executive Steve Chicorel and Kelly Mi Li (“Bling Empire”) and now has operations in Taipei, Los Angeles, London, Riga and Brisbane. The operation, now headed by Chicorel and Shari Hamrick, is currently in post-production on two movies and the second season of “Cypher,” a series for Roku.

The Xenomorphs won’t have to worry about getting owned by Ellen Ripley in the Alien TV series currently being penned by Fargo‘s Noah Hawley.

The scene after the Snowfall title card drops in Season 4’s Episode 9 features four fascinating minutes of family, fists and fury. It centers on Amin Joseph‘s emotionally amped-up Jerome seeking immediate retribution after his wife Louie has been shot at a funeral, with Damson Idris’ Franklin Saint sacrificing his body to stop his uncle from walking into Manboy’s ambush. Below, TVLine Dream Emmy nominee Joseph and Snowfall director Carl Seaton deconstruct how they turned Jerome’s superior physical strength into a weakness.

Characters die on Snowfall every season. But there was something about Manboy’s death in Season 4 of the FX crime drama that still brings a reverential smile to the faces of Damson Idris, who stars as Franklin, as well as the cast and crew.
For starters, in order to shoot the scene from Episode 9, titled “Sleeping Dogs,” Melvin Gregg had to fly back from Australia, where he had begun shooting the Hulu limited series Nine Perfect Strangers opposite Nicole Kidman and Regina Hall. His character Manboy also suffered a three-minute death scene that began with Tanosse (played by Adrianna Mitchell...

The newest addition to The CW's Arrowverse is Camrus Johnson's Luke Fox on Batwoman, the sometimes reluctant tech-wiz behind Kate Kane's cowl.
In real life, Camrus grew up in Georgia where he had plans to go into the military. When he realized, at around age 15, that the military wasn't the career he wanted, his mother imparted some words of wisdom that he's never forgotten.
Describing those early years over the phone, he took a moment to get the words exactly right.
"Her words were... What did she say? She said, 'You like to be loud and obnoxious. Try acting.' So, I did."
"Loud and obnoxious" couldn't be farther from the mark as Johnson was warm and relaxed as he shared freely about his path from high school drama classes to Batwoman and the role of Luke Fox.
"I was in Acting for a year, fell in love with it,...

I don’t know about you, but I think the recently launched Batwoman TV series is getting better as it stretches on. Sure, the ratings may not be all that explosive, but The CW likely knows what to expect when airing something on Sunday nights. That said, this is a show that should’ve been placed on Monday or Wednesday, but I’m not the one in charge.
One thing in particular that makes this series compelling is how the first big bad to debut, Alice, is also essentially a supporting character to Kate Kane herself. I don’t mean to jump the gun here, but I could see her recurring in years to come, just as Eobard Thawne did over on The Flash, or how Malcolm Merlyn did likewise on Arrow.
Staying on the subject of Alice, it’s looking like we’ll finally learn much more about her...

Whenever an iconic character gets cast and recast over time, certain actors will naturally resonate with fans more than others – and there are some who just don’t go over well at all. In the case of Lex Luthor, I think many folks reading this will agree with me in saying that Michael Rosenbaum proved himself to be the best while on Smallville. But, to be quite honest, the guy has some serious competition now.
As you may know, Jon Cryer debuted as Lex during last night’s episode of Supergirl, that being “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” And while viewers went in skeptical due to the veteran actor’s history with the comedy genre, they were pleasantly proven wrong and ended up going absolutely nuts for the former Two and a Half Men star. Additionally, I’m not afraid to say that I, too, thought Cryer did a phenomenal job.

Lex Luthor may be back in National City, but viewers have a lot of questions about what the elusive villain has been up to.
Thankfully, Supergirl Season 4 Episode 16, airing Sunday, March 24 at 8/7c will start the process of filling in the blanks.
Here's the official press release for the episode:
"Lex Luthor Continues To Wreak Havoc – In the wake of Lex Luthor’s (guest star Jon Cryer) return, the show flashes back to what he’s been doing for the last two years and how his secret machinations and plans have affected Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Lena (Katie McGrath). Well over a year ago, back on May 2011, I profiled the powerful and dramatic short film titled Karim, written and directed by L.A. based filmmaker Carl Seaton, a Chicago native, who was inspired to make the film after being profoundly affected by the violent summer in his hometown the previous year. And if anyone has been paying attention to the national news, the situation has gotten worse this year instead of better. According to the filmmaker, he "wanted to shoot something without depending on dialogue as well as make the audience redirect their sympathies from prey to predator." However the good news is that, thanks to the overwheling...

Of Boys and Men directed by Carl Seaton (One Week) and written by Michelle Amor is a minor, very modest, low budget, family film drama which was independently produced and financed and shot three or four years ago entirely on the west side of Chicago. The film was screened at a couple of film festivals then seemed to disappear. Well that is until I saw it this week on DVD since the film is coming out on Jan. 25 through Warner Bros home video.
In fact DVD might be the best way to see it since as a film it’s a totally unremarkable, rather cliched ridden and totally predictable movie. One Week
This low-budget indie drama about a man notified that one of his former sexual partners is HIV-positive has strong relevance for a black community suffering alarmingly high statistics for the disease. Widely seen on the black film festival circuit, "One Week" is now playing a limited theatrical release in New York, New Jersey, Chicago and Atlanta before widening later this fall.
Varon Thomas Kenny Young, who co-wrote the film with director Carl Seaton) is happily preparing for his upcoming marriage to the lovely Kiya (Saadiqa Muhammad) when he is suddenly contacted by the "partner notification" program of a local health clinic. An unnamed former lover who has tested positive has put him on the list of people to be informed. Suddenly, his life is turned upside down as he nervously waits out the one-week period before he can get his own test results back, even while coping with job pressures and his imminent nuptials.
He must also make the torturous decision as to whether or not to tell his fiancee. His wastrel best friend Tyco (Eric Lane), who has become a source of conflict between Varon and Kiya because he spent an inordinate amount of time camping out on Varon's couch and smoking pot, advises him in no uncertain terms not to tell her. It seems that Tyco has received the same notification from the clinic, and it becomes apparent that both men shared the same lover.
"One Week" was apparently originally intended to be a comedy, and its several comedic scenes blend uneasily with the melodramatic aspects of the story line. It must also be said that the film suffers from languid pacing, often cliched dialogue and less than top-notch technical elements. But there are also some scenes that strongly resonate, and the film's important message is delivered without excessive sentimentality or being overly preachy. The lead performers provide vivid and impressive characterizations, particularly Lane as the blunt-talking Tyco.
