Republic Pictures has acquired worldwide rights to Millers in Marriage, a new film written, directed by and starring Edward Burns (The Brothers McMullen).

Details as to the release plan haven’t been disclosed. The official trailer for the third and final season of Starz’s Hightown promises the lies will come to an end and the case will come to a close (hopefully in a satisfactory manner). Season three of the critically acclaimed crime drama will premiere on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 12am Et on the Starz app, streaming and on-demand platforms, and at 9pm Et/Pt on Starz linear.

The third season of “Hightown” will be its last, Starz announced on Tuesday.

The series, which launched in 2020, follows Jackie Quiñonez’s (Monica Raymund) daily struggle to stay sober while taking on the opioid crisis that is sweeping Cape Cod. Season 2 picked up with Jackie, who sets out to prove herself as a cop and avenge the death of her best friend, Junior (Shane Harper). All the while, the town faces a new deadly drug called Great White.

In this upcoming season, Starz teases “everyone will face a deep reckoning” when the bad guys and corruption arise from all sides. “Beliefs and loyalties will be tested, and Jackie will have to learn to stand by herself and for what she believes in,” reads the official description. Starz has set the premiere date for the third and final season on Friday, Jan. 26.

The Lionsgate-backed premium cable network on Tuesday announced that crime drama Hightown, starring Monica Raymund, will conclude with its third season. Season three of the series from showrunner Rebecca Cutter (Gotham) will debut Friday, Jan. 26, on Starz.

Hightown is the latest series to get the ax at Starz. The cabler recently cleaned house and canceled Blindspotting, Heels and Run the World after two seasons each and dropped The Venery of Samantha Bird with only two episodes left to produce.

The conclusion of Hightown leaves Starz with a roster of originals that includes Black Mafia Family, Outlander, P-Valley, the Power franchise and Shining Vale. Exclusive: Chris Cooper has just been set to star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts in Demolition, the next film by Dallas Buyers Club helmer Jean-Marc Vallee, whose new film Wild with Reese Witherspoon debuted at Toronto.
