Charles Schner, an award winning cinematographer, has an illustrious career as a camera assistant, camera operator and director of photography. He graduated from UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, winning the Jim Morrison Award for a film he wrote and directed. During his time at UCLA, Charles interned for the film "On the Edge", starring Bruce Dern, and found himself working for the camera department. On this film, Charles was influenced by the work of notable cinematographers, Stefan Czapksy and Stephen Lighthill and so decided to pursue a career in camera rather than directing. The years following, Charles worked his way up from film loader, camera assistant, camera operator and now director of photography. He has shot films for MGM, Sony, Warner Brothers and for Academy Award winning producer, Grey Frederickson. His feature film credits as 2nd unit director of photography and camera operator include "Captain America: Civil War", "Insurgent", "Master and Commander", "Zathura" and "The Big Lebowski". His television credits include "For All Mankind", "American Horror Story", "Glee", "Salem", "Medium", "Invasion" and "The O.C." Charles has worked alongside distinguished cinematographers such as Roger Deakins, ASC, BSC, Russell Boyd, ASC, ACS, Michael Goi, ASC, Guillermo Navarro ASC, AMC and Florian Ballhaus, ASC.
