Born in Cleveland Ohio, Lee spent most of the 70s and 80s as a touring
lighting designer with Rock n Roll bands. He co-formed Ocean, Rose &
Associates in Hollywood in 1984 and broke into the Music Video and
Television lighting design field. In 1998 he joined the lighting design
firm of Design Partners, Inc. where he remained a partner until the firms
dissolution in 2016. He began operating under his own firm Lee Rose Designs in 2016.
Nominated twice for Emmy awards for his work with Yanni at both the Acropolis
in Greece and the Taj Mahal & Forbidden City shows.
He was named Lighting Designer of the Year in
1997 by Lighting Dimensions Magazine.
Lee retired from entertainment to focus on his photography in 2023
