Leonard Rogowski was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. At the
age of 7, he was introduced to the world of music with lessons on the
saxophone and clarinet. Leonard continued his music development by
taking piano lessons and became enthralled with the music masters
Beethoven, Bach and Chopin.
By age 17, Leonard had earned a reputation as an accomplished saxophonist and pianist and embarked on a professional career with stage production bands and rock n' roll groups at various venues throughout Southern California including performances at the Hollywood Bowl.
Leonard continued to study music at USC and UCLA and received his B.A. in Music from UCLA. He then furthered his studies with Advanced Courses in Composition, Arranging and Orchestration at the Dick Grove School Of Music. Leonard's extensive music education also includes private studies with Academy Award Winning Songwriter Al Kasha and Music Union Executive Lyle "Spud" Murphy as well as special music composition and film scoring courses in the UCLA Extension Program.
Mr. Rogowski's composing career began as a staff composer for Screenmusic West, a Hollywood based music production company and music licensing organization. At Screenmusic West, Leonard pioneered the "Commercial Broadcast Sound" still heard in today's news programming and corporate television advertising with original music innovations based on the works of Copeland and Stravinsky utilizing polyrhythms mixed with brass fanfares.
As the filmmaking community became more familiar with Leonard's composing abilities, Lorimar Productions commissioned him to create original neo-classical music cues to complete and augment a compilation score comprised of the works of Aaron Copeland and Johann Sebastian Bach for the major motion picture "Love And Money" starring Klaus Kinski. Leonard's music production talents have also been enlisted by Touchstone Pictures, Cannon Films, MGM, ABC, NBC, CNN and the Sci-Fi Channel.
Leonard has also enjoyed an additional music career as a Singer-Entertainer-Pianist with World Tour performances on many of the Leading Cruise Shiplines and special engagements for Major Hotel Chains and Resort Casinos worldwide.
Currently, Leonard Rogowski composes production music and Specialty CD album releases for the Los Angeles based Cinematone Collection comprised of Hollywood's finest studio musicians, orchestrators and recording engineers under his direction.
