Los Angeles, Aug 26 (Ians) Actress Margot Robbie almost joined Ryan Murphy’s ‘American Horror Story’ universe, casting director Eric Dawson revealed in a podcast.

In a new episode of Backstage’s podcast ‘In the Envelope’ shared that the ‘Barbie’ star was almost cast on ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’, reports aceshowbiz.com.

“Margot is probably one of my favorite auditions of all time, and it was right before she broke out,” Dawson explained during the interview.

Talking about the actress, he continued: “She was just such a star. It was just crazy, her star appeal and when she walked in the room and her voice. Everything about it.”

Even though Margot didn’t get the role in the second season of the hit FX anthology series, Dawson’s confident that she would become big later.

“That was one of those things as a casting director you go, ‘This is a star.

Voice actor Johnny Hardwick, best known for playing Hank Hill’s Bff Dale on King of the Hill, has died. He was 64.

According to TMZ, which broke the news, police were called to Hardwick’s Texas home on Tuesday for a welfare check and discovered his body. A cause of death is not known, although foul play has reportedly been ruled out.

The DJ — who was born Willie Perry Jr. — died on Monday, after a battle with cancer, ABC News reports.

The Chicago native reportedly created the iconic dance and song as a step aerobics routine, when he was helping his nephew, who worked as a fitness trainer at Bally’s Total Fitness, according to NPR.

The craze started soon after, when DJ Casper was inundated with requests to play the song at parties and events. It was soon picked up and played by Chicago’s Wgci-fm in 2000, and eventually released by Universal Records.

The song became a staple of birthday celebrations, bar mitzvahs and wedding receptions across the globe.

British keyboardist, pianist and vocalist John Gosling, best known for his work with The Kinks, has died. He was 75.

The iconic English rock band announced the news in a tribute post to Instagram on Friday, one day after Gosling’s death.

“We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of John Gosling. We are sending our condolences to John’s wife and family,” the post read. The tribute also included individual statements from each member of the band.

Dave Davies shared, “I’m dismayed [and] deeply upset by John Gosling’s passing. He has been a friend and important contributor to the Kinks music during his time with us. Created by Vince Gilligan, the gripping crime drama showcases the transformation of the lead character Walter White from a high school chemistry teacher to a methamphetamine producer in order to save his family’s future. The show focuses on the themes of antihero, power and integrity.

Gulshan will be seen in the character of Hector Salamanca in a special promo for ‘Breaking Bad- Hindi’. Hector is played by Mark Margolis. The character is a former high-ranking member of the Juarez Cartel who is now unable to walk or speak because of a stroke, communicating with the help of a bell. However, Mark passed away recently, and the video of Gulshan is a tribute to the actor and character.

Sharon Farrell, whose screen credits include the original “Hawaii Five-o”, several years on “The Young and the Restless” and the cult horror film “It’s Alive”, has died at age 82.

According to Deadline, Farrell died back in May, but her death had only recently been discovered by relatives.

Among Farrell’s extensive credits also included the films “The Stunt Man”, “Lone Wolf McQuade”, “Marlowe”, “The Reivers” and “Can’t Buy Me Love”.

The actor’s wife and son were by his side at the time.

Margolis passed away Thursday at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City with his wife Jacqueline and only child Morgan at his bedside following a short illness. His son Morgan Margolis, who is the CEO of Knitting Factory Entertainment, was the one to announce the news.

Mark Margolis, who portrayed the menacing, bell-ringing Hector Salamanca in “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul,” died Thursday at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. He was 83.

His son, Morgan Margolis, announced the news.

As the former drug kingpin who continues to hover over the Albuquerque meth trade from his nursing home, Margolis left an unforgettable mark on the Vince Gilligan television universe with barely any dialogue. In 2012, he was nominated for an Emmy for his performance in “Breaking Bad.”

He returned as Hector “Tío” Salamanca for five seasons in the Bob Odenkirk-led prequel series “Better Call Saul,” where he infused a rich backstory into the character.

Born in 1939 in Philadelphia, Margolis moved to New York at a young age to pursue acting. With an early interest in theater, he landed roles in productions such as “Infidel Caesar” on Broadway. He would go on to appear in more than 50 Off-Broadway plays,...

Margolis died Thursday at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City following a short illness, his son, actor and Knitting Factory Entertainment CEO Morgan Margolis, announced.

A protégé of Stella Adler who did double duty as the legendary acting teacher’s personal assistant, Margolis also stood out as the Bolivian henchman Alberto the Shadow in Brian De Palma’s Scarface (1983); as the gravelly voiced landlord Mr. Shickadance looking for the rent in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994); and, from 1998-2003, as the HIV-infected mob boss Antonio Nappa on HBO’s Oz.

“I think it’s finally my year,” are the famous last words of Eddie Munson in “Stranger Things,” but unfortunately actor Joseph Quinn will have to wait a little bit longer.

While, at this point, it feels like the kids of Netflix’s ’80s-set sci-fi series will be grandparents before Season 5, with the WGA strike delaying production and the general speed in which the Duffer brothers have delivered seasons. Nonetheless, elements of last summer’s massively popular Season 4 Vol. 2 double-episodes will be angling for consideration from the Television Academy this year. But Emmy rules means most stars of “Stranger Things” aren’t eligible for this year’s ballots.

In June 2022, the TV Academy eliminated the “hangover episode rule,” which allowed a series that premieres current-season episodes after the May 31 eligibility deadline but before the start of nomination round-voting to submit for Emmy consideration.

The TV Academy better call Rhea when Emmy nominations are announced.

The acclaimed actress has chosen to submit in the supporting drama actress category for the second half of the final season of “Better Call Saul,” Variety has learned exclusively. The actress joins her co-star, Carol Burnett, who will also vie for a nomination in the same category.

Despite the AMC “Breaking Bad” spin-off series airing last summer, it’s eligible for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards, where it hopes to finally take home statuettes after being shut out for each of its six seasons.

Last year, Seehorn finally picked up her first nomination for playing Kim Wexler, Saul Goodman’s confidante and wife. Variety reported Seehorn’s team was mulling over a decision on whether to seek lead actress consideration over the past few weeks.

Television has come a long way since it was first labeled as a “vast wasteland” by former FCC Chairman Newton Minow. From classic shows like “I Love Lucy” to modern favorites such as “Game of Thrones” and “Doctor Who,” television has transformed from simple entertainment into an innovative medium for creating intricate stories that engage with viewers on multiple levels.

Mark Margolis and Mark O’Brien have been cast in Showtime’s “Your Honor” for Season 2 in recurring roles, Variety has learned exclusively.

Margolis will play Carmine Conti, a much feared mobster who is the father of Gina Baxter (Hope Davis). After retiring to Italy, Carmine returns to bring order to the fractured Baxter family. O’Brien is set to portray Father Jay, the Baxter family’s priest whom they rely on for counsel. According to the official character description, “Father Jay is a Roman Catholic priest who is very good at talking to skeptics.”
