Matt Kutcher started Spectrum FX in 1993, and has established the brand as being a leader in the film and television industry, with resources to facilitate production worldwide.

Spectrum FX, has been recognized with awards and nominations from Visual Effects Society, Motion Picture Academy, Television Academy, Online Film and Television Association, and the International Press Academy. Spectrum has become the "go to" resource for projects involving complex mechanical effects, extreme environments, and challenging action sequences, regardless of location.

Spectrum FX has become as much a production company as it is a special effects company. With the addition of Donnie Dean, John Bush, Ty Abrahams, Justin Johnson, and Matt's sons Matthew and Zackary, the volume of quality work this team is able to facilitate is expanding exponentially by the day. Spectrum regularly operates from its headquarters in New Orleans and is able to simultaneously provide services across multiple television series and feature films, in multiple US states as well as internationally with it's team of Special Effects Coordinators.
