At age 19, Gordon Kirschbaum left Granite Falls, Minnesota with four
buddies in a 2-door rumble seat coupe and $8 in his pocket and headed
to California. He found work at Lockheed building P38 Lightnings for
the War. In 1946 he got into the studios doing set construction. In
1947 he met and married Audrey Schuermann. He retired in 1986 after 40
years of work at the studios, the last 20 spent with Aaron Spelling
Productions.
