Eli Janney is an Emmy-nominated American composer and producer born in Washington, DC. Since 2014, he has been the band leader and keyboardist of the 8G band on the Late Night with Seth Meyers on NBC.
Eli started working at the famed Inner Ear Studios in 1986, engineering and mixing punk bands before moving to NYC in 1991 to pursue life as a musician. In NYC Janney played bass and keyboards in indie rock/post-hardcore band Girls Against Boys, playing festivals like Lollapalooza, Reading, and Mt Fuji and touring with Rage Against The Machine, Garbage, and the Foo Fighters. Throughout the 90s and 2000s he has been awarded Platinum and Gold records sales for producing and mixing for artists like Wilco, Eddie Vedder, David Bowie, Garbage as well as creating music for Rado, Nike, and Nickelodeon.
