- Best remembered as Shelley Winters's trashy pal in the 1965 film A Patch of Blue (1965) and as Sgt. Bilko's long-suffering girlfriend, Sgt. Joan Hogan, in The Phil Silvers Show (1955).
- She was accidentally discovered by Alfred Lunt and Robert B. Sherman at an open casting call. She found that she was on the wrong stage, rushed off and literally ran into them.

In Young at Heart, Fraser played Day's older sister; In Tunnel of Love, Fraser was an older neighbor from whom Day sought marital advice; In Glass Bottom Boat, Fraser (who by this point had gained a great deal of weight) was cast as Day's father's girlfriend and in Ballad of Josie, Fraser was the town Widow.
